Use of Motorised Buggies (Carts)
A Motorised buggy is considered any vehicle that allows the player to travel on it.
Follow the direction of all signage.
These conditions are put in place to preserve the golf course in it’s best condition possible, by minimising the compaction and wear and tear of the fairways.
It is the player’s responsibility to know when there has been a change of conditions by:
- Reviewing the Course Condition of play on the WCC Website front page:
- Course Open – Yes/No,
- Carts On – Yes/No, and
- Statement stating the Change of Condition and what the condition of play is.
- Reviewing the Local Rules Board and Notice Board outside the WCC Pro Shop,
- Review signage that may be placed at the 1st and 10th Tee box,
- Review signage that may be placed on the counter of the Pro Shop, front door of the Club House or Car Parks.
Normal Conditions (No restricted usage)
While using a Motorised buggy, the whole buggy (all wheels) are to stay on pathways where provided, unless passing a parked buggy, if no pathway is provided, the cart is to stay in the rough cut of the fairways. Travel on the pathway or in the rough until you are level with your ball, then drive out to your ball, once the ball is played return to the pathway or rough along the shortest route. If there is a requirement to traverse a fairway the shortest route across it, is to be taken. Motorised buggies are to remain fifteen (15) meters away from all greens and bunkers and three (3) meters away from all Tee boxes, unless on a designated pathway.
Wet Conditions (Restricted usage applies)
There are three levels of restricted usage for Motorised buggies:
- No Carts allowed
- 90 degree rule
- No Carts on Fairways
No Carts allowed – no Motorised buggies are permitted on the course.
90 degree rule – all Motorised buggies are to stay on pathways where provided or in the rough cut of the fairway where no pathway is available, until you are level with your ball, then cross to your ball at 90 degrees, once the ball is played, cross back at the same angle.
No Carts on Fairways – Motorised buggies are not to drive on or across any fairways at any time. Stay on the pathways where provided or in the rough cut of the fairways where no pathway is available. Where no pathway is provided, choose the side of the fairway that best links up with the next pathway. Travel along the pathway or rough until you are level with your ball, then walk to your ball.
Motorised golf carts are not to drive through wet patches of visible water, stay on areas that are dry.
